With the increased focus on green living and sustainable lifestyle practices these days, it makes sense for the bridal world to follow suit in offering up eco-friendly options to brides and grooms who are looking for celebrate their big day without making a big impact on the environment. Vendors in Milwaukee are coming together to create gorgeous options that don’t leave a major footprint.

There’s no need to scrimp on style in order to go green for your wedding day. You can use 100% cotton ribbon for you and your bridesmaids’ bouquets and in your decor. The ribbon is completely recyclable and will decompose quickly. You can also get creative with place cards and opt to use an item the guests can take home as a memento of your wedding. Your green day can be bright and colorful and very personal to you as a couple! The bright pinks and reds and oranges chosen for this shoot in particular contrast well with all of the greenery and give off a fun, summery vibe.

And speaking of party favors, one idea is to use sweet little air plants to both decorate your table and to inspire your guests’ green thumbs when they get home! Green plants are a nice contrast to most venues and create a fun, boho vibe, all while improving air quality.

When it comes to table decor, you can upcycle items purchased at a second-hand store to simultaneously cut down on waste from packaging that comes with new items, and give new life to an old item. In the photos on these pages you’ll see mix-and-match candle holders and frames used to create unique and personal touches that your guests surely won’t forget.

For a sweet-treat that takes very little energy to make, cotton candy can be fun and unexpected element! Plus, the paper cones that hold the treats are easily recycled. Depending on the types of drinks you plan to serve, you can also use paper straws to add a fun decor element and be environmentally friendly.

Whether or not you plan to fully embrace an eco-chic theme for your big day, there are plenty of ways to be eco-friendly that will only add to the personality and theme of your celebration, all while helping the planet.
