Meet Ali Blanck, Heidel House Resort & Spa

Weddings at the Heidel House are the essence of Wisconsin: fun, light-hearted and absolutely beautiful. Thanks to Catering Sales Manager Ali Blanck, brides can feel completely at ease and know that their dreams for their big day will be fulfilled. As the point of contact for brides getting married at the resort, she’s well-versed on all aspects and details of each bride’s dream wedding. Ali’s passion for hospitality helps her to go the extra mile for her clients, and any bride who’s had the pleasure of working with her knows they’re in good hands.
Q: How did you wind up at the Heidel House? A: Since I was a young girl I always dreamed I would have a career based around events and weddings. With my dream in hand, I pursued a business management degree along with a minor in communications at West Virginia University.
While in college I served at Red Lobster for 4 years. I really enjoyed serving and taking care of guests. The fact I could personally make someone’s day better just by good service and a smile was empowering. Through serving, I knew I was on the right track emphasizing my education in the hospitality industry.
But it wasn’t until my last internship at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Penn., that I truly gured out what career path I wanted to take. Weddings were always the most fun to work and be a part of. The resort taught me how guests are a number one priority and nothing, in terms of an event, is impossible if you keep an open mind. A couple of episodes of the Bachelorette were even lmed there! All of these experiences led me to become the Heidel House’s Catering Sales Manager.

Q: Why is the Heidel House ideal for beautiful Wisconsin weddings?
A: The Heidel House is right on Green Lake. Our venue offers a realm of diverse reception and ceremony spaces. Waterfront ceremonies on Grey Rock Lawn is a very popular option for wedding clients. The bride and groom say “I do” 6 feet from the water’s edge. Not only is the view gorgeous, the serene atmosphere and beautiful landscaping make Grey Rock Lawn the perfect waterfront ceremony location.
The Heidel House offers a venue where the wedding couple, family and friends can park their cars and not get back into them until their stay is over. We offer everything a wedding couple needs to make their stay special and relaxing. Star Irvin, our Wedding Events Manager, contributes to the success of the wedding weekend in an amazing way. The rehearsal dinner can take place in multiple areas throughout the Heidel House. A popular rehearsal option is to take out the Escapade Yacht for dinner or a fun booze cruise with the bridal party. Then end the night with a welcome reception, back on shore, for all guests. When it comes to the wedding day, we have the Evensong spa and salon for the bridal party to be pampered while enjoying a round of mimosas. Since the Heidel House offers every aspect of the wedding weekend, the couple can really take time to enjoy their special day with friends and family. Not to mention the photos always turn out amazing with our gorgeous backdrops.
Q: Do you have any words of wisdom for brides and grooms? A: Always remember there is no right or wrong way to host your wedding. It’s your day. Make the venue, food and style resemble you and your partner. If you love lake life and want to have a cookout wedding reception, serving brats and hamburgers, you should do it! This day is meant to be fun. It’s okay to say “No” to others’ opinions and suggestions. You get one day to call yours, so make it all about the two of you.
