- Set a budget and discuss the sharing of expenses
- Decide on the type of wedding (formal, semi-formal, informal; season).
- Choose a ceremony site
- Select a wedding consultant
- Decide on wedding theme: choose flowers, candles, table favors.

- Book officiant
-Sign up for any required pre-marital counseling or classes
- Decide size of wedding party and choose attendants (including ushers, etc).
- Shop for dress and accessories (including veil and shoes)
- Select attendants’ apparel
- Compile bride’s and groom’s guest lists
- Choose reception site.
