        Windy City Linen opened its doors in 2008 with just 2,500 square feet and three owners at the helm. They had no sales reps but themselves, and fulfilled deliveries in their cars until they hired their first full-time rep, Debra Jenkins. Not long after their humble start, they moved to a new location in 2009 to meet client demands. The new location was 7,500 square feet, but they quickly outgrew that space and within two years had to obtain a new section bringing their total square footage to 15,000. And, they are still growing!
       It’s no wonder Windy City Linen has experienced such great success in the event linen industry. With an emphasis on meeting customers’ expectations and providing the best products available, paired with unparalleled service, they have established a sound reputation with quality infused in every aspect of their business.
        “Commitment to excellence is what we live by,” says general manager Marcela Medellin. “We try to be as efficient as possible because our clients have so many other things they are working on and linen should be the least of their worries.”
        Windy City Linen has been trusted with a variety of well-known clients: Make-A-Wish foundation, Lollapalooza and, to name a few. Their team has experience to handle any event, wedding or corporate, big or small. And although they are based in the Chicago-area, Windy City Linen has recently begun to move business into Wisconsin. The goal wasn’t just to grow business, but to reach out to a unique market with a beautiful product at a very competitive price, which will work within all budgets.
        “When we entered the linen market, we wanted to accomplish the ability to offer beautiful linens at an affordable price,” Marcela says. “We have priced our linen to be competitive within the market, which will enable our brides to have the color palette they want with many options in fabric and price points in order to keep the décor of her special day within budget.”
        Since they don’t have a showroom located in Wisconsin, they’ve set up a helpful and highly convenient swatch request tool on their website to help brides interested in the fabulous Windy City Linen selection of colors and textures.
        “Some people want to see the fabric before they rent,” Marcela explains. “They can go on our website and select colors and fabrics they are interested in, and we will mail them swatches to use with the linen selection as well as for them to use for color matching and contrast will all of the other wedding decisions and details.”
        Windy City Linen offers many beautiful and seasonal colors in their Classic, Lamour, Bengaline and Shantung Lines. They also carry the much-requested Pintuck and Crush fabrics. Their newest line—Jute—is a softer version of burlap and natural-like fabrics and will be available for rental at the end of April and will come in 7+ different colors. And, they are constantly adding new items to their already sensational inventory.
        But their products aren’t the only boast-worthy part of what they do. Windy City Linen has been told time and again by clients that their customer service is the best amongst their competitors. Their knowledgeable staff and friendly nature lend to that stellar reputation.
        “A bride and groom can expect to be assisted by a knowledgeable representative that can give them ideas on how linen will accent their event,” Marcela says. “Our reps will ask them questions they might not be thinking of at the moment, like cake table covers or ceremony cloths. Sometimes the smallest things and can be forgotten with so much planning to do, and we want to make that planning easier by being the expert on sizing, layouts, color combination suggestions and any other assistance we can provide.”
        Because they want you to have the best experience possible, they advise you come prepared when you are ready to place a linen order with table sizes and color scheme. With that, they will do all the rest. They can take the image you have created in your mind and make it a reality. Nothing will be left missed.
        As far as day-of service, you will be taken care of by their fabulous on-site staff that will assist with the setting up of the linen and chair covers for the event. They also add that when ordering chair cover, they include the chair tie at no additional cost. From start to finish, they have you covered!
        “We enjoy what we do and we value each of our clients,” Marcela emphasizes. “We want to provide you with options, pricing and service that will exceed your expectations for you perfect day!”
