Paperwhites
Growing up in a close knit and creative family gave Deb Eisner Hackbarth an appreciation for the importance of relationships and a desire to honor them artistically through her custom stationery company, Paperwhites.
“My dad was an artist, so I grew up with a love of art and design,” said Deb. “It just became the fabric of my being, a part of my soul.”
For most brides, this day is something they’ve envisioned since they were little girls. Deb and her design team consider it a joy and a privilege to take those dreams and breathe life into them. High end, luxurious papers in hundreds of patterns and textures are layered with rich colors and typefaces, and adorned with striking embellishments –all done by hand, one at a time.
Every Paperwhites invitation, save-the-date card, program, place card, or other wedding stationery is uniquely designed to tie into the couple’s love story and the mood of their wedding day, whether formal, casual, playful, or something in between. Intricate and extremely personal, a Paperwhites invitation is more than the fulfillment of a wedding tradition – it’s a keepsake.
“Paperwhites stationery is a reflection of each bride and groom, with a ‘wow’ factor thrown in,” explains Deb.
Couples start with a complimentary consultation at the Paperwhites office, a lively space inside Nonbox, a hip marketing firm in Hales Corners. Deb encourages them to have fun with the planning by experimenting with different combinations of papers and accessories. A starting point for many couples is sampling Paperwhites’ exquisite signature designs, a line of invitations unveiled each year to showcase the most current wedding trends. Brides can adapt any design to their own vision, but many use them as inspiration for their own one-of-a-kind invitation. Luxury and couture invitations feature accessories in silk and faux silk, folios and pouches, as well as jeweled and soft embellishments.
Getting to know couples, sometimes over weeks and months, is the most rewarding part of the business, says Deb. Her desire to build lasting relationships means her team goes beyond the ordinary, and it shows not just in the final creations that grace guests’ mailboxes, but also in the service Paperwhites provides along the journey to the wedding day.
“I want my customers to be overjoyed when they see their finished invitations - and to feel excited and proud when they mail them to friends and family,” remarked Deb.
